December 12, 2004 - Fresh off a 63-54 victory over No. 22 Wisconsin on Saturday night, the Marquette Golden Eagles make their first poll appearance of 2004 coming in at No. 25 in the ESPN/USA Today coaches? poll.
Marquette stands one position out of the Associated Press Top 25, receiving 175 votes this week.
Senior point guard Travis Diener?s performance on Saturday, five three-point field goals and 29 points, was good enough to earn him player of the week honors from ESPN.com?s Dick Vitale. It?s the second time in 2004 Diener has earned one of the site?s weekly honors.
The Golden Eagles return to action on Saturday at 1 p.m. against No. 16 Arizona at the Bradley Center.
