A Rivalry Weekend
2/10/2004 12:00:00 AM | Women's Basketball
This past weekend we were in Chicago, playing DePaul. Coming into this game, DePaul was ranked in the top 25 in the nation, and we were all very excited for an opportunity to knock off a ranked team. We had the entire week of practice to get prepared, and we left for Chicago on Saturday.
The first thing we did when we got there was eat, of course (we like to do that team activity a lot). We ate at ESPN Zone and watched the men's team, who was also playing DePaul that afternoon. I had no idea the restaurant had an entire floor of games and arcades, it was very exciting for all of us. I think the coaches enjoyed the opportunity to be kids again ? you couldn't pull Jill away from the air hockey table! Note: If any of you are wondering this as many of us were, ESPN stands for "Entertainment and Sports Programming Network."
Our game against DePaul was .... very quality, but unfortunately a little short in the quantity column. We lost, by two, against a very talented team in a very hostile environment. What is good about this match up is that we will get a second chance at them, at home, on senior night! We have a pair of home games this weekend, against Memphis and St. Louis. These are guaranteed to be good games, so we expect that if you are reading this, you will be there to support us!
