Golfers Take 13th at Marshall Invitational

Kyle Murphy shoots 240 to lead squad

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Ohio State Buckeyes claimed their 17th Marshall Invitational title behind the stellar play of Kevin Hall, who carded a final-round 65 and a 54-hole total of 206. The 65 tied the tournament record. Marquette finished the event in 13th place, shooting a 908. Sophomore Kyle Murphy led the team with an 11-over 240. He finished 40th.

Ohio State set the new tournament final round record with a 278, beating their old record of 279 set in 1998. Marquette was 61 strokes off the team lead.

For Marquette,Joe Weber placed 48th with a 227; Michael Bielawski and Nathan Colson tied for 58th with a 229; Jason Gaare came in 73rd with a 235.

Marquette next competes in the Conference USA Championship on April 19-21 in Dade City, Fla.
