Weber, Murphy post low 54 scores for MU
GREENVILLE, N.C. -- Marquette finished 14th of 21 at the Bradford Creek Intercollegiate in Greenville, N.C. The Golden Eagles were led by Joe Weber and Kyle Murphy.
Weber and Murphy shot a three round 221 to finished tied for 34th. Murphy shot a team best 71 in the final round. Weber, coming off a 71 in yesterday's final round, posted a 74 today.
For the first time in the history of the Bradford Creek Intercollegiate, there were co-champions crowned in the individual portion of the tournament. Campbell's Braxton Wynns and UNC Greensboro's Andy Bare posted 54-hole totals of 11-under, 205.
In the team portion of the tournament, Campbell came away with the tournament title as it posted a 54-hole 852 finishing six strokes ahead of three-time defending champion UNC Wilmington (858). Marquette shot an 887 for the event.
Rounding out the Marquette finishers, Michael Bielawski placed 60th with a 224; Nathan Colson finished 67th with a 225, and Steve Sass finished 80th with a 228 total.
The Golden Eagles return to action on April 9-10 competing in the Marshall Invitational in Huntington, W. Va.
