Golfers in Sixth at Northern Intercollegiate

Murphy leads team in 10th place
VERNOA, Wis. -- Led by junior Kyle Murphy, Marquette is in sixth place at the Northern Intercollegiate in Verona, Wis.
Murphy shot a two under in the second round, birdying two of the last three holes, to lead the Golden Eagles with a 10th place standing through 36 holes.
The Golden Eagles are in sixth place, tied with Michigan, at two-under, 586. Marquette is 10 shots behind tournament leader, Wisconsin.
Murphy is four shots behind Garrett Chaussard of Illinois and Ryan Swelin of Miami (Ohio), who are tied for the lead at six-under, 138.
Freshman Ted Gray is in 18th place at 144. Junior Steve Sass is in 26th place at 147. Junior Joe Weber is in 51st place at 153. Jason Gaare, competing as an individual, is in 55th place at 154. Mark Eldridge, also competing as an individual, is in 61st place at 157. Michael Bielawski is in 69th place at 161 to round out the field for Marquette.
Play finishes on Sunday, Sept. 19, with the final round at 8 a.m.
