Solid team effort paces Golden Eagles
SIMPSONVILLE, Ky. ? The Marquette men's golf team continues its impressive play in the fall season, sitting in second place after 36 holes of the Cardinal Intercollegiate in Simpsonville, Ky.
The Golden Eagles trail Louisville by 17 strokes. The Cardinals appear to be running away with the event, played on their home course. Marquette leads Mississippi State by two strokes heading into the final round.
Junior Steve Sass leads the way for Marquette in a tie for eighth place at even par, 144. Three golfers from Louisville lead the way. Charlie Woo is in first, nine shots ahead of Sass' group.
Junior Joe Weber is in 15th place at one-over par. Freshman Ted Gray is in 26th place at three-over. Sophomore Michael Bielawski is in 39th place at five-over.
The tournament concludes with the final round on Sept. 28.
