January 10, 2005 - Marquette checks in at No. 22 in this week?s Associated Press Top 25 poll, its first appearance in the writer?s rankings this season.
MU spent one week earlier this season (Dec. 13-19) at No. 25 in the ESPN/USA Today Top 25 poll.
The Golden Eagles, who amassed 345 points in this week?s poll, defeated Tulane, 82-68, on Saturday for their fourth consecutive victory and 13th in 14 games. Their 13-1 start is the program?s best since 1977-78.
The ranking is Marquette?s highest in the AP poll since being ranked No. 21 last January 19.
Marquette plays two games this week; at Memphis on Thursday at 8:00 p.m. on ESPN2 and home against South Florida on Saturday at 8:00 p.m.
