Marquette was led by sophomore Dameon Mason?s 20 points, along with 16 each from Ryan Amoroso and Travis Diener. Amoroso also added a career-high 12 rebounds.

Memphis stretched the lead to 18 on two occasions before heading to the locker room with a 41-25 lead.
Playing much more aggressively and protecting the basketball, Marquette slowly chipped away at the Memphis lead in the second half and with 4:43 remaining had cut the lead to six, at 63-57.
Memphis answered the Marquette rally by going on a 10-2 run over the next two minutes to seal their 78-68 victory.
