Marquette checks in at No. 25

January 17, 2005 - Fresh off a come from behind 66-64 victory over South Florida on Saturday night, Marquette (14-2, 2-1) checks in this week at No. 25 in both the Associated Press and ESPN/USA Today top 25 polls.

The Golden Eagles appear in the writer?s poll for the second consecutive week, the first time that has happened since last January. MU?s No. 25 ranking in the coaches? poll is its second this season, having held the same position from December 13-19.

This week Marquette faces two of the five teams that won a share of the 2004 Conference USA regular season championship, playing at DePaul (10-4, 2-1) on Thursday at 8:00 p.m. on ESPN 2 and then hosting Charlotte (12-2, 3-0) at 2:00 p.m. at the Bradley Center on Saturday. That game will be televised regionally by ESPN.
