Golden Eagles and Cardinals To Fly Tonight In Louisville
1/26/2005 12:00:00 AM | Men's Basketball
Marquette will take to the road to play at Louisville in front of a national audience on ESPN tonight at Freedom Hall. Marquette has won three straight games at the historic Freedom Hall, no team has done that since Cincinnati when it won three straight from 1998-2000.
This is the first of the two-game series between Marquette and Louisville, the teams will meet again on Feb. 17 at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee. Last season, Marquette swept the two-game series.
The last four games of this series have been extremely close as the games have been decided by an average of four points and no game has been decided by more than seven. On Feb. 24, 2001, the teams played what was the longest game in Marquette history--a triple overtime thriller that saw Louisville win, 77-74.
