Coughlin Grabs Third BIG EAST Honor of the Season

Coughlin earned the honor for her performance last weekend helping the Golden Eagles to record another spilt, defeating DePaul, 3-0, before falling to no. 10 Notre Dame, 3 -1. Coughlin recorded back-to-back matches of double figured kills slamming 21 against the Fighting Irish and 11 against DePaul, marking her 17th consecutive match dating back to the 2004 season she has registered double-figured kills. The outside hitter also notched her seventh double-double of the season against Notre Dame contributing 11 digs.
Joining Coughlin on the weekly honor roll was Cincinnati?s Jessie Nevitt, Notre Dame?s Lauren Kelbley, Seton Hall?s Jessica King and Syracuse?s Kelly Duan. Louisville?s Lena Ustymenko was named player of the week, while Pittsburgh?s Nicole Taurence was selected rookie of the week.
The Golden Eagles will hit the road this weekend for a two-game road tilt making stops in West Virginia and Pittsburgh. Marquette will face the Mountaineers on Saturday, October 8 at 2 p.m. EDT and will battle Pittsburgh on Sunday, October 9 at 2 p.m. EDT.
