Track & Field Team Competes in Two Early-Season Meets

On Dec. 3, the Golden Eagles competed at the UWM Developmental meet. Brent Des Roches won the 3,000m run with a personal-best, and BIG EAST championship qualifying time of 8:21.6. The performance also ranks as the second-fastest 3k in program history. Two long jumpers - Matt Piekarski and Zach Pawlowski - also earned BIG EAST qualifying marks. Pierkarski jumped a personal-best 22'10.5", while Pawlowski leaped 21'11".
On the women's side, two MU pole vaulters earned their BIG EAST qualifiers. Carrie Schmid and Kristen Stoniecki each vaulted 11'1.75", tying for first-place honors at the meet. Their performances also ranked as personal-bests and the second-best performances all-time. Amy Stoniecki also qualified for BIG EAST's, with a 9'8.5" performance.

At the Redbird Open at Illinois State, Mike Boedecker placed fifth in the shot put with a heave of 53'9", earning a BIG EAST qualifier. Damian Anisko also qualified for the conference championship with a toss of 52'0". On the women's side, Jessica Ehlen had the third-best performance in program history, with a personal-best throw of 53'6.25" in the weight throw.
