Well, we are really close to the end. We only have one more conference game left, and we leave for the conference tournament next week. This past weekend, we traveled to Memphis and St. Louis. We lost a close game to Memphis and we found some extra energy to beat Saint Louis.
It was a lot of traveling this weekend, since we flew to each city and had numerous lay-overs in other cities. We have said all year that it takes a little extra to win on the road, and it sure does. It's a learning process, to get to bed a little bit earlier and to drink a little bit more water on the flights, and even at this point in the season, such things become critical. Playing in front of opposing crowds is also an adjustment, but this weekend we were blessed to have our own group of fans at each game.
Jasmine, a native of St. Louis, brought the whole town to our game on Sunday. It was quite a shock to run out on the floor for warm-ups and hear a cheering section! We were glad we could get this win for her. So, thank you to everyone who came out to support us this weekend, it really meant a lot. And, Jasmine has one big, dedicated family! They waited patiently outside our bus to give us a send-off, even though they only got to see their star player for a few minutes.
We were glad we got to see the end of the men's game on Thursday night. We went to Ruby Tuesday's for dinner that night in Memphis and the men's game was on TV. With 10 or more of us crowded around the TV's in the lobby cheering for the men, I hope we weren't too distracting!
This week we can focus on just one opponent: DePaul. We play them, at their place, on Sunday. It's nice to have a full week to prepare for a team, because you get to know them inside and out (as if we don't already know DePaul that well...).
Have a good week!
