MILWAUKEE ? The Marquette Volleyball team will take part in the Networker Classic in Champaign, Ill., in the final spring tournament of the season.
Marquette starts the tournament at 8:30 a.m. taking on Missouri. The Golden Eagles then take on Illinois at 10:50 a.m. In their third match, Marquette will face the Peoria Cougars, a club team, at 1:10 p.m. The Golden Eagles wrap up the tournament taking on Indiana State at 2:20 p.m.
"This should be a great tournament for us," head coach Pati Rolf said. "This is the second toughest spring tournament of the year. Both Illinois and Missouri have big, strong teams and Illinois State is (assistant coach) Todd Nelson's old stomping grounds. We will be playing a good mix of powerful and technically skilled teams. We will see if we can step up and finish strong."
Rolf said she will use the tournament to continue to evaluate players at different positions and in different rotations.
"We're rotating everyone," Rolf said. "Nicole Wallace has shown that she has some tremendous ability. Kimberley Todd has been playing well and we've seen some nice things out of her this spring."
