Drake Relays finish third day of competition

Des Moines, Iowa- After very successful first two days at the Drake Relays the Marquette track and field teams looked to keep up their impressive finishes. On Thursday the Golden Eagles set two school records in the decathlon and the 4x1600 meter relay and are hoping to set more in the remaining events this weekend.
In the 3000 meter steeplechase, school-record holder Brianna Dahm, who also helped the 4x1600 meter relay team set a school record yesterday, finished fifth in the event with a time of 10:36.43
In the distance medley the women finished 16th with a time of 11:56.49. Shannon Oster, Christina LeDonne, Kaitlyn Chambers, and Cassie Peller ran the race.
The relay team for the men?s 4x800 finished 11th, as the team was led by two freshmen and two juniors. Freshmen Joe Pierre and Jed Burey began the relay while juniors David Henderson and Jon Shaffer anchored the team, which finished in 7:36.46.
The meet will conclude tomorrow in Des Moines.
