Brianna Dahm Named Outdoor Track All-Decade

MILWAUKEE ? Marquette senior Brianna Dahm was named to the Conference USA All-Decade team for women's outdoor track and field.
"Brianna has been such an important part of our program for the past five years," head coach Dave Uhrich said. "She has worked hard to overcome several injuries through her career. To get this award is a testament to how important she is to the program and how much she's going to be missed next season.
Dahm was an All-American in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 2003, finishing eighth at the NCAA Championships in that event. She was named Conference USA Athlete of the Year for Outdoor Track and Field in 2002 and placed 18th at the NCAA Championships in the 3,000-meter steeplechase that year.
In her first season, Dahm was named C-USA Freshman-of-the-Year in outdoor track in 2001, capping a season in which she won Freshman-of-the-Year in all three running sports (cross country, indoor track and field).
In her career has three C-USA Outdoor Track and Field selections and has nine all-C-USA honors overall. She has won four C-USA individual outdoor championships ? 1,500 meters, 3,000-meter steeplechase in 2003; 3,000-meter steeplechase in 2002; 3,000-meter steeplechase and 1,500 meters in 2001. And she owns the C-USA record in 3,000-meter steeplechase.
Dahm was named all-decade in cross country and indoor track and field. She was one of two to be named to all three teams.
She leads Marquette into the Conference USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships which begin Thursday, May 12 in Houston, Texas.
