Pierre Competes at NCAA Regional

Freshman fails to qualify for finals at NCAA Regionals

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Freshman Joe Pierre was unable to qualify for the finals in the NCAA Mideast Regional in the 800 meters.

Pierre qualifed for the regional meet with his effort at the Conference USA Championships, but he was unable to finish in the top two of his heat to automatically qualify for the finals.

Pierre turned in a time of 1:53.01, finishing seventh in the second heat and 21st amongst 24 competitors in the event.

Four members of the Marquette women's track and field team compete on Saturday, May 28 in the regional event.
