Novak leads NIT All-Stars to perfect start

June 28, 2005 - Senior forward Steve Novak is averaging 13.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.3 three-point field goals through three games on his tour of England and Ireland with the NIT All-Stars.

The All-Stars are a perfect 3-0 with an average margin of victory of 42 points. Novak scored a team-high 21 points, including five three pointers, in the squad?s 113-57 victory over the England University Games Team on June 25.

Novak is second on the team in three-point field goals with 7. Northern Iowa?s Ben Jacobson leads the way with 12.

The 11-member team was scheduled to play one final game in England before heading to Ireland for a pair of games.

The NIT All-Stars have been touring since 1980 and are coached by veteran ABA and Italian League All-Star George Bucci. For more than three decades, the NIT All-Stars have been assembling top collegiate talent representing the tournament organization, their schools and their country.
