Dahm Advances to 3,000-Meter Steeplechase Final

Senior to compete for national championship

SACRAMENTO, Calif. ? In one of the final events of the first day of the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, senior Brianna Dahm earned her second trip to the finals of the event at the national championship meet.

Dahm competed in the first of two heats and placed sixth with a time of 10:10.02. The top five automatically advanced to the final round. The next four best times also advanced.

After waiting out the second leg, Dahm qualified for the 14-runner final with the 12th-best qualifying time.

It is Dahm's second trip to the final race at the NCAA Championship. She finished eighth two seasons ago. In her freshman year, she advanced to the NCAA Championships, but failed to qualify for the final, finishing 18th.

The finals of the 3,000-meter Steeplechase take place on Friday, June 10 at 7:05 p.m. PDT (9:05 CDT) at Hornet Stadium in Sacramento, Calif.
