Marquette basketball has partnered with Second Harvest of Wisconsin to identify a small number of items acceptable for donation. They include canned meals, such as soups, stews, chili, pasta in sauce, cases of bottled water, energy bars, baby food and formula will directly benefit those affected by Hurricane Katrina.
Monetary donations will be accepted and directed to the American Red Cross or Catholic Charities.
Fans will be able to watch Marquette work out, concluding with five-on-five. Following the workout, fans will have an opportunity to meet players and coaches.
The city of New Orleans has special meaning for fans and followers of Marquette basketball. In 2003, the team made a magical run through the NCAA Tournament which culminated with a Final Four appearance at the Superdome, the program?s first appearance in college basketball?s national semifinals since 1977.
