Ellis Named BIG EAST Rookie of the Week

Ellis helped pace Marquette to a 74-59 win at No. 23/24 St. John's on Feb. 8. She shot 8-of-14 from the floor, including 3-of-5 from 3-point range, while also recording four rebounds and three steals in 30 minutes of action. Ellis scored eight of the first 12 points of the game and 11 of the first 19 Golden Eagle points.
She ranks fourth on the team in scoring, at 9.1 points per game, while leading the squad in steals (37) and three-pointers made (24). In BIG EAST games only, Ellis leads MU in scoring, at 12.5 points per contest.
Marquette returns to action on Thursday at USF. Tipoff time is set for 6 p.m. CST and the game can be heard live locally on WJYI 1340 am and on the internet via Yahoo! Sports. The Golden Eagles return home on Sunday, when they host Georgetown at the Al McGuire Center at 2 p.m.
