MILWAUKEE - Junior Christina Quaye was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll - her third such honor this season. The 6-1 forward averaged 22.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.0 blocks, while shooting 69.2% from the field (18-26) and 50.0% from three-point land (3-6) in a 1-1 week for Marquette last week.
Quaye scored 23 points at USF on Feb. 16, tying her season-high. She was 9-for-13 from the floor, while pulling down seven boards. Last time out, against Georgetown this past Sunday, she replicated her stat line from USF, going 9-for-13 from the field, while also grabbing seven rebounds.
She was also named to the BIG EAST's weekly honor roll on Dec. 12 and Dec. 27. Quaye leads Marquette in scoring (14.0), rebounding (6.3), and field goal percentage (52.1%).
The Golden Eagles return to action on Wednesday, when they host Rutgers at the Al McGuire Center. Currently ranked #7 on the latest Associated Press poll, and #8 on the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll, the Scarlet Knights will be the highest-ranked team to ever face Marquette on its home court at "The Al."
That night, the grand prize for the Wrist Band Giveaways will be awarded. If you received all three Marquette women's basketball wristbands, you are eligible. It is also MU Faculty & Staff Night, and all in attendance will receive free popcorn at the game.
