MILWAUKEE - The Marquette women's soccer media guide was named fifth best in the nation by the College Sports Information Directors of America, as part of the organization's year end publications award.
The awards are given after a series of national judging. Contest judges viewed three copies of entrants game programs. The judges award points based on content, design style and writing. Mississippi State received first place in the contest, which drew over 50 entrants.
This is the second straight CoSIDA award for the Women's Soccer media guide. Last year's entry was named best in the district.
Blain Fowler (Assistant Media Relations Director) was the primary graphic designer, writer and editor of the guide. Amy Ufnowski (Media Relations Assistant) served as a writer and editor for the publication. The CoSIDA award is the seventh overall and third national award for Fowler and is the first for Ufnowski.
This is the second Marquette athletics publication to receive a national award. The Marquette men's basketball game programs were named second best in the nation earlier this year.
Last week, the Marquette athletics marketing department received three national awards for their work in season ticket campaigns, radio advertisements and newspaper display advertisements.
