Women's Basketball to Host Pancakes and Practice

The Marquette women's basketball team will host an open scrimmage to give fans and inside look of what is to come for the 2007-08 season. Pancakes and Practice will be held on Saturday, Oct. 20. Doors will open at 9:30 a.m., with the scrimmage starting at 10 a.m. The event is free to the public.
Six letterwinners return for Marquette including All-America Honorable Mention and First Team All-BIG EAST selection Krystal Ellis. Ellis averaged the league's fourth best scoring average for the 2006-07 season with 18.0 ppg.
Along with Ellis, the five remaining returnees are senior Svetlana Kovalenko, juniors Kelly Lam, Erin Monfre and Marissa Thrower and sophomore Janelle Harris.
The fresh-faced Golden Eagles squad features six newcomers including 2007 Minnesota Miss Basketball Angel Robinson and national three-point record holder Courtney Weibel.

The Golden Eagles open their season against Loyola-Chicago on Monday, Nov. 12 at the Al McGuire Center for a 7 p.m. tip-off. All Monday night games are apart of Monday Madness - Giveaways Galore. Each Monday, fans will be able to win great prizes as well a be apart of all the excitement that is Marquette women's basketball.
