MILWAUKEE - The Marquette women's soccer team will host its first of three consecutive spring home games at Valley Fields Saturday, April, 14. The Golden Eagles welcome the University of Illinois at 3 p.m.
The Golden Eagles who have seen progress in their spring play will look for their first win of the non-championship season. It will be Marquette's first game outdoors and at Valley Fields for the spring. The Golden Eagles were supposed to play both Kansas and Iowa outdoors, but the games had to be moved indoors due to inclement weather.
Illinois, who is coming off a successful fall 2006 campaign, advanced for the second straight season to the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16. The Illini finished the season 16-8-0 overall and 8-2-0 in Big Ten play. Last fall, the Golden Eagles dropped a 2-1 exhibition game to the Illini in Champaign, Ill.
