MILWAUKEE - Following a three-day national team camp held at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif., senior women's soccer player Christy Zwolski was one of 17 players named to the United States Amateur Soccer Association (USASA) National Team. The team is slated to play in Mexico July 14-20.
Zwolski is the second Marquette soccer player to be selected to this team in program history as Sarah Uyenishi earned a roster spot in 2005. It will be Zwolski's first experience with a national team and first time to play abroad.
"I was extremely excited to get invited to camp, and to have the chance to play against some of the best competition," said Zwolski. "But, to be selected to the team is incredible and to be surrounded by such good players was one of the best experiences I've had. I am very much looking forward to representing the USA on the international soccer scene. To me, it is exciting to be traveling to a country that lives and breathes soccer. The atmosphere should be awesome."
