MILWAUKEE - Marquette volleyball head coach Pati Rolf will be heading to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil July 12-22 to officiate the 2007 Pan American Games. A veteran international volleyball referee, Rolf will be in Brazil July 12-22.
"The Pan American games are an exceptional event for the Americas. It is a huge honor to be selected as a referee. Very few women are selected so it's an opportunity to show women that this is possible. This is a tremendous chance to travel the world and see the highest level of volleyball," Rolf said. "There are other Marquette student-athletes trying out and if they are selected it will be great to go and watch them too."
Rolf has been a certified USA and PAVO National Official since 1991 and certified international official since 2003, officiating tournaments in places such as Russia, Guatemala and Tunisia. She also served as a reserve referee in May when the USA Men's Olympic Team faced Japan in World League Play.
