MILWAUKEE - Junior defender Katie Kelly will play for her club team, the Kansas City Dynamos, for the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA) U23 National Cup at the Starfire Sports Complex in Seattle, Wash., on Friday, Aug. 3. The Dynamos will play the Region III champion Pinellas United of Florida in the first semifinal at 4 p.m. PT.
Should the Dynamos defeat Pinellas, they will face the winner of the Bethesda Eclipse (Maryland) vs ICSL All Stars (California) in the title game scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 5, at 10 a.m. PT.
Kelly's team is no stranger to success at the national level as twice before has Kelly's team played for a national championship. Her U14 team won the United States Youth Soccer Association (USYSA) title in 2001, while her U18 team took third place in 2005.
The KC Dynamos earned its spot in the National Cup Finals by winning the Midwest Regional Championship (Region II) in June.
