The Marquette men's and women's soccer teams debut themselves for the 2007 season with Fan Fest on Thursday, August 16 at Valley Fields. The festival begins at 6:30 p.m.
Both the men's and women's teams will take part in interactive soccer stations with hundreds of dollars worth of prizes from the Spirit Shop. Food will also be available, cooked by the Marquette coaching staffs.
"Welcome to FanFest 2007, our version of Midnight Madness," said Markus Roeders, head women's soccer coach. "We are excited to welcome our fans to Valley Fields for a great night of free food, fun soccer activities and interaction with players and coaches. It is a unique way for all our fans to get excited about the upcoming Marquette Soccer season."
Following the interactive portion of the festival, a scrimmage will be played on the Valley Fields main turf on the second day of practice for each team.
"It's a great chance for fans to come and participate in soccer-themed activities and get an early look at Marquette Soccer," said Louis Bennett, head men's soccer coach. "We will look a lot different in our second Blue and Gold scrimmage, but we will be able to show off our seasoned veterans and exciting newcomers."
The teams begin practicing on Wednesday, August 15.
