Freshmen Angel Robinson, Tatiyiana McMorris, Paige Fiedorowicz, Jasmine Collins, Jocelyn Mellen and Courtney Weibel, along with director of basketball operations Carolyn Kieger spent Thursday afternoon at Edward A. MacDowell School in Milwaukee speaking to fifth through eighth grade students who are also members of the school's basketball team.
While at MacDowell School, Robinson, McMorris, Fiedorowicz, Mellen, Collins and Weibel spoke about the importance of excellence in academics as well as in athletics, and what it takes to be a student-athlete.
The MacDowell students had the opportunity to ask the Marquette student-athletes questions, and learn about ball handling techniques. A friendly game of lightning was held between the MU student-athletes and the MacDowell students. The Golden Eagles signed autographs following the game.
The Golden Eagles visited the MacDowell School in conjunction with their on-going work with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Milwaukee.
