MILWAUKEE - Senior forward Christy Zwolski will embark on a six-day excursion to Mexico as a member of the United States Amateur Soccer Association (USASA) National Team. The team will play two matches against the Mexican Olympic Team on Jan. 25 and 27.
The trip was originally slated for July 14-20, 2007 but was rescheduled.
Zwolski, a second team all-BIG EAST honoree in 2007, is one of 16 players from around the nation to be selected to the squad after attending the USASA National Camp at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif., June 30-July 2, 2007.
The team will play the Mexican Olympic team on Friday, Jan. 25, in Jalapa Veracruz and then again on Sunday, Jan. 27, at the Mexico National Training Center in Mexico City.
Zwolski is the second Marquette soccer player to be selected to this team in program history as Sarah Uyenishi earned a roster spot in 2005. It will be Zwolski's first experience with a national team and first time to play abroad.
