Robinson Named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll

MILWAUKEE - Freshman guard Angel Robinson was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll announced by conference officials Monday.
Robinson averaged 19.5 ppg, 5.0 rpg, and 4.5 apg on a 1-1 week where MU fell at No. 1/1 Connecticut, 95-63, but bounced back to defeat No. 23/21 Pittsburgh, 76-69. She scored a collegiate best 22 points at Connecticut by matching a career best eight field goals on a career-high 17 attempts.
She played all but one minute in the defeat of Pitt scoring 17 points, adding six assists and five rebounds. All 17 of her points were scored in the second half. She hit a game changing 3-pointer to help Marquette go ahead by four points, 65-61 with 3:20 left to play. She also hit three of four free throws in the final 55 seconds to help secure the win.
This is Robinson's third BIG EAST weekly honor of the season, first honor roll selection. She was twice tabbed the conference's freshman of the week on Jan. 7 and Dec. 17.
The Golden Eagles return to action Saturday, March 1, when they play at Villanova at noon CT. Marquette will close out the regular season at home against USF on Monday, March 3, at 8 p.m.
