Milwaukee - Marquette University senior Ted Gray was named to the six-person Carter Plantation Intercollegiate All-Tournament Team. Gray tied for third place, his highest finish of the season, with a four-over par 220 (71-75-74).
Gray's performance helped Marquette to a second-place showing, the team's sixth top-three finish in eight tournaments in 2007-08. His one-under 71 in the first round helped the Golden Eagles take an early lead in the event and was Gray's sixth round of the season that was under par.
Medalist Rick Cochran (215) of team champion Middle Tennessee State, St. John's Keegan Bradley (218), MTSU's Chas Narramore (220), Michael Smith (221) of Louisiana-Lafayette, and Julian Colmenares (221) of Jacksonville State were the other players to be named to the all-tournament squad.
Gray and the Golden Eagles return to the links April 4-5 when they will compete at the Marshall Invitational. The event will be played at the Guyan Golf and Country Club in Huntington, W.Va.
