Golden Eagles Thank Students At Annual Fanatics Picnic

Milwaukee - The Marquette University men's basketball program recognized the source of its tremendous student support during the season Wednesday afternoon at the annual Fanatics Picnic.

New head coach Buzz Williams and the players hosted the event outside the Alumni Memorial Union, which featured free food, music and giveaways. Every student season ticket holder to attend at least 12 games in 2007-08 qualified for the prize drawing. The top prize was a 40-inch plasma TV, second prize as an IPhone, third prize a $200 gift certificate to the spirit shop and fourth prize was a $100 gift card to Mayfair Mall.

Several hundred students enjoyed the picture-perfect afternoon in Milwaukee and each was able to speak with all of the returning players, as well as seniors Ousmane Barro, Trend Blackledge and Dan Fitzgerald.
