Zwolski Signs with W-League's New Jersey Sky Blue

MILWAUKEE - Former women's soccer player Christy Zwolski recently signed with the New Jersey Sky Blue of the United Soccer League's W-League. Zwolski and the Sky Blue will play a 12-game schedule through the summer months.
Zwolski joins Sky Blue after a stellar four-year career at Marquette where she finished with 59 points on 22 goals and 15 assists in 78 matches. For the 2007 season Zwolski earned second team all-BIG EAST accolades for her team-leading 17 points on five goals and seven assists. She was also named all-Great Lakes Region by the NSCAA and Soccer Buzz.
In the winter of 2008 the striker from Libertyville, Ill., played with the USASA National Team, which traveled south of the border to take on the Mexico Women's National Team in two games in January.
The W-League is the highest level of women's soccer in the United States and Canada. The top women's players compete in the USL W-League through the summer months. The league is recognized throughout the world for providing elite competition for women's players.
In its second year of existence with the W-League, Sky Blue Soccer is a founding member of the newly created Women's Professional Soccer (WPS) league that will launch in 2009.
