Kretz Wins Local U.S. Amateur Public Links Event

MILWAUKEE - Kelly Kretz, who recently completed his freshman season with the Marquette University men's golf team, won a local qualifying event for the 2008 U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship. Kretz fired a two-under par 142 at Washington County Golf Course in Hartford, Wis. to win the local qualifier held June 7-8.

Kretz edged Edward Stenftenagel (145) of Palm Deset, Calif., and Wisconsin Lutheran College's Danny Behm (146), who were the other two qualifiers from Washington County to advance to the U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship July 14-19 in Aurora, Colo.
