Wade's tenure with USA Basketball dates back to 2004, when he was also a member of the USA Senior National Team at the Olympic games in Athens, Greece. He was a tri-captain of the 2006 USA World Championship Team and helped the squad to the bronze medal in Japan.
Wade is one of five returning players from the 2004 games and with his selection this summer will join a group of just 13 individuals to be tabbed to multiple-time Olympians. In 27 games with USA Basketball, Wade has averaged 11.2 points, 3.1 assists and 2.3 rebounds per game while helping the squad to an overall record of 27-4.
Wade played for the Golden Eagles during the 2001-02 and 2002-03 seasons, helping Marquette to a 53-13 record, two NCAA Tournament appearances and a trip to the 2003 NCAA Final Four. He holds the record for most points scored in a season with 710 and ranks 24th all-time with 1,281 career points. As a sophomore he was named an Honorable Mention All-American by the Associated Press, and as a junior, garnered All-American honors from the AP, Sporting News, the United State Basketball Writers of America, ESPN.com, Basketball Times, FOXSPORTS.com and CNNSI.com.
