WASHINGTON, D.C. -
Head Coach Terri Mitchell
On the win at Georgetown after spending five days on the road...
This is a huge win for us because it has been a long trip. We rebounded from Rutgers. We played 27 minutes well, we played the last 13 minutes well and it hurt. I don't think that game reflected who we are. We started the first half tentative and the second half I thought we were the aggressive team. In order for us to be successful we have to be aggressive on both ens of the court.
On the play or Erin Monfre and Janelle Harris...
Erin shot the ball. We need her to shoot, she's a shooter. You can't hesitate. When you hit one, hit another one. If you hit a second one hit a third one. Her teammates were looking for her and we were setting her up great, running plays for her. Also, Nelly (Janelle Harris), it was nice to see her play so aggressive. She got to where she didn't play a lot, but I really think she's earned that back. Her thing in the game is flashing and rebounding. She got to the free throw line; I think she kept her energy up.
On the play of Jessica Pachko, and the momentum change in the second half...
Jess Pachko, what a second half! I really challenged the posts at half time about who was going to step up. She sparked and we ran plays and she stepped up. I told her I was really going to yell at her every time now at halftime, with that kind of performance. Her, Georgie, Even marissa and Paige, they all did what they were supposed to do. Its nice for us to play such a good half of basketball. To have some momentum, get some rest now, reflect on that and get ready for a great Syracuse game on Tuesday.
