Women's Basketball Announces 2009-10 Promotional Schedule

MILWAUKEE - The Marquette women's basketball team has just announced its promotional schedule for the upcoming 2009-10 season. This season is filled with fun and exciting extra incentives for fans to catch all of the action the Marquette women's basketball team has to offer. Highlights of the season promotions include the fifth annual "Pink Out," "Pack the Al" night, a mini plan featuring Wisconsin, Connecticut and DePaul, and a Centennial Celebration of Women at Marquette.
The Golden Eagles will officially open their 2009-10 campaign against St. Francis (Pa.) on Saturday, Nov. 14 at 2 p.m.Season ticket packages start at just $40. Two hundred and fifty chairbacks in sections 101, 105, 111 and 115 have been added to the lower bowl of the Al McGuire Center. Season tickets in those sections are just $75.
The Golden Eagles will also be offering a mini plan that includes games versus Wisconsin (Dec. 11), Connecticut (Jan. 13) and DePaul (Feb. 20). Mini plans start at $10. Fans can only purchase tickets for the Wisconsin and Connecticut matchups by buying a mini plan or season ticket.
"Throwback night," celebrating Marquette's Centennial Celebration of women at Marquette will be Saturday, Jan. 2 for the Golden Eagles BIG EAST Conference lidlifter against Pittsburgh.
Once again this season, Marquette will be selling pink Marquette women's basketball t-shirts all season long starting on Nov. 14 for $10 with all proceeds going to the Milwaukee Breast and Cervical Cancer Awareness Program and the Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Fund. The t-shirts will also be available online at www.shop.marquette.edu. Last year, Marquette sold out of its pink t-shirts and raised over $8,000 for the the MBCCAP and the Kay Yow Foundation. The Golden Eagles will host its fourth annual "Pink Out" to coinside with the Women's Basketball Coaches Association's Pink Zone on Saturday, Feb. 20 against DePaul at 1 p.m. The game will be televised live BIG EAST TV.
Marquette wants to "Pack the Al" with 4,000 or more fans for its game against reigning NCAA Champion Connecticut on Wednesday, Jan. 13 at 7 p.m. All fans in attendance are encouraged to wear gold that night. The Golden Eagles will play two exhibition games prior to their season opener on Saturday, Oct. 31 at 2 p.m. against UW-Stout and Tuesday, Nov. 10, at 7 p.m. against Beloit College.
