Women's Basketball Continues Homestand Against Villanova Tuesday

The Marquette women's basketball team continues its three game homestand at the Al McGuire Center Tuesday, Feb. 10 against Villanova. The 7 p.m. tip-off will air locally on Time Warner Sports 32 with Kareeda Chones-Aguam and Dennis Krause on the call. It can also be heard via the airwaves on WJYI 1340 AM with Matt Salmon and Tony Matera on the call.
Marquette will close out the three-game homestand Sunday against West Virginia at 1 p.m.
At just past the midway point of the conference season, the Golden Eagles (13-10, 4-5 BIG EAST) stand in eighth place with a 4-5 BIG EAST record. Angel Robinson continues to lead Marquette in the points column with 14.0 ppg, 15.8 ppg in BIG EAST games.
Marquette is 2-2 all-time against Villanova and owns a two-game win streak over the Wildcats. The Golden?Eagles are 1-0 when playing Villanova at the Al McGuire Center. The last time these two teams met Marquette earned a 71-64 road win at Villanova.
Picked 10th in the preseason BIG EAST poll, the Wildcats (15-8, 7-2 BIG EAST) have been the surprise team of the BIG EAST as they stand tied for third place with an 7-2 BIG EAST record. They have won their last six games with its most recent win coming at Seton Hall, 54-51.
Laura Kurz leads the WIldcats with 18.0 points and 7.4 rebounds per game and has scored in double figures in 19 straight games. Kurz is the only Wildcat to average in double figures.
