MILWAUKEE--The Marquette University volleyball squad will play their final event of the spring season at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at the Klotsche Center against Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
"We are starting to take the shape of the team that we want to be this fall," said head coach Bond Shymansky. "We are constantly trying to move our offense faster, and with more complexity. The match against UWM will give us a good idea of what to expect for our match this fall and we want to make sure that we keep representing Marquette University as the best university in the state of Wisconsin."
This will be the third time this spring that the Golden Eagles have played their cross-town foes in some form. At the Three Wise Men Tournament a week ago, MU split two games with split squads from UWM. Prior to playing at the Three Wise Men Tournament, MU captured two of five matches at the Great Lakes Center Collegiate Invitational on March 28.
This match will mark the final intercollegiate action for the Golden Eagles until they begin the 2009 fall campaign, Shymansky's first with the squad.
