MILWAUKEE - Head coach Bond Shymansky and his new coaching staff hosted Triplesfest Saturday morning and afternoon at Veteran's Park along Milwaukee's lakefront. After heavy rains Friday evening, the clouds over Milwaukee cleared leaving the 3-on-3 volleyball tournament with ideal 80-degree sunny weather. Some of the courts remained a little wet but inspired play continued nonetheless.
"We had great weather for a great event," Shymansky said. "There is a fantastic level of interest in the city of Milwaukee in this event and it is something we will continue to grow as a marquee event for Marquette Volleyball."
On the day over 160 players, comprising 51 teams competed for titles in the women's AA and A and the men's AA and A divisions with play starting around 9 a.m.
Triplesfest has served as the primary fundraiser for volleyball since 2003 and continues to draw some of the region's top players.
