The Marquette University men's basketball team will face Villanova, Providence and DePaul in home-and-home series in 2009-10 BIG EAST Conference play, the league office announced Thursday morning, highlighting the team's 18-game conference schedule.
The Golden Eagles have learned where they will take on their fellow league programs next season, but the layout of the actual schedule has yet to be determined. In 2008-09, MU's crossover trio consisted of DePaul, Georgetown and Villanova. The team finished 5-1 in those matchups.
HOME GAMES: DePaul, Georgetown, Louisville, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, Providence, Rutgers, USF and Villanova.
ROAD GAMES: Cincinnati, Connecticut, DePaul, Providence, St. John's, Seton Hall, Syracuse, Villanova and West Virginia.
The upcoming season will mark the third campaign for the 18-game BIG EAST schedule, which features three home-and-home opponents for every school and one matchup against each of the remaining 12 league opponents.
Marquette posted an overall record of 25-10 in 2008-09 and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Championship for the second-straight year, marking the team's fourth-straight NCAA appearance overall. MU posted a school-record 12 BIG EAST victories en route to a fifth-place finish.
Season tickets will be available for as little as $99 beginning on July 13. Five-game mini plans, which will include four BIG EAST matchups and NC State, go on sale on August 3.
