Women's Basketball Plays at Villanova Saturday Afternoon

The Marquette women's basketball team will hit the road for four of its next five games starting at Villanova on Saturday, Jan. 16. Tip-off at the Pavilion is set for 2 p.m. ET/ 1p.m. CT. A live video stream is available on www.villanova.com on a pay-per-view basis.
Following its trip to Villanova, MU will play at Rutgers on Jan. 23, before returning home to play Georgetown at the Al McGuire Center on Jan. 27. Marquette will head back on the road playing at DePaul on Jan. 31 and at Syracuse on Feb. 6.
The Golden Eagles (11-6, 2-2 BIG EAST) return to action following a 68-43 defeat to No. 1 Connecticut on Wednesday. Junior guard Tatiyiana McMorris, who has started in the last six games has been a spark for Marquette on both ends of the court. McMorris has posted back-to-back double-digit point performances in the last two games, posting 10 points in a win over Seton Hall and a career-high 16 points against UConn. It was the first time of her career the Bronx, N.Y. native has scored 10-or-more points in consecutive games.
Despite standing at just 5'7", McMorris has become a rebounding force for the Golden Eagles as of late registering five-or-more rebounds in each of the last three contests, including a career-high eight against Connecticut.
Villanova enters the game with Marquette 10-5 overall and winless in BIG EAST play with an 0-3 record. Laura Sweeney and Maria Getty lead the Wildcats in scoring with 11.8 and 10.1 points per game, respectively.
Marquette is 2-3 all-time against Villanova in a series that commenced when the Golden Eagles joined the league in 2005. Marquette is 1-1 all-time at the Pavilion and came out victorious in the two teams' last meeting at Villanova, 71-64, on March 1, 2008.
