Golden Eagles to Play at Louisville Tuesday Night

The Marquette women's basketball team will look to get back on the winning track when it plays at Louisville Tuesday evening. Tip-off at Freedom Hall is set for 7 p.m. ET/6 p.m. CT.
Marquette will be looking to bounce back after falling to Providence, 53-44, Saturday at the Al McGuire Center. Freshman Sarina Simmons led Marquette for the first time this season with 14 points, while Courtney Weibel added nine points, all from beyond the arc. Weibel has knocked down at least one 3-pointer in each of the last three games.
The Golden Eagles currently sit in a three-way tie for seventh place in the league standings with USF and Providence, while Louisville, whose lineup has been depleted due injury this season is in 12th place with 3-9 in league mark (11-14 overall). Monique Reid leads the Cardinals with 16.4 points and 8.9 rebounds per game. Becky Burke follows with 15.1 points per game.
Marquette is 8-12 all-time against Louisville, 1-3 as BIG?EAST?Conference foes. The Golden Eagles are 4-6 when playing in Louisville. Marquette last won at Louisville on on Feb. 21, 2003, 79-76. Louisville won the last two meetings 79-69 on Jan. 23, 2008 (at Freedom Hall) and 66-61 on March 2, 2009 (at the Al McGuire Center).
