Nikki Klingsporn Named MVP at Volleyball Team Banquet

MILWAUKEE - The Marquette women's volleyball team held its annual team banquet Tuesday night at Joey Buona's Restaurant in Downtown Milwaukee. First-year head coach Bond Shymansky spoke on the contributions of every player and staff member and recognized the certain awards voted on by members of the team.
Junior setter Nikki Klingsporn and sophomore Ashley Beyer were each recognized as members of the 2009 All-BIG EAST Second Team, while Klingsporn was also voted the squad's most valuable player.
Freshman Danielle Carlson was named the team's most improved player for her improvement from the time she arrived on campus in the summer to the end of the season.
The hustle award was given to senior Hailey Viola for her effort and work ethic in her final season at Marquette.
Sophomore Alex Coello was given the coaches award for her hard work and dedication to the team.
