HARTFORD, Conn. - Junior guard Angel Robinson and freshman Sarina Simmons earned All-BIG EAST Conference honors announced Thursday afternoon by conference officials. Robinson picked up her second straight All-BIG EAST Second Team selection, while Simmons was named to the All-BIG EAST Freshman Team.
During the 2009-10 campaign Robinson has proven she can do it all. Robinson leads the Golden Eagles with 11.9 points per game, including 12.4 ppg in BIG EAST play
Robinson has registered 17 games of double-figure scoring, including 11 in BIG EAST play. She has scored 20-or-more points in three BIG EAST games; with 21 against Pittsburgh, 20 at St. John's and 20 in an upset over Georgetown. Robinson also leads MU in assists with 4.5 per game, ranking her fourth in the BIG EAST.
More than just an offensive force on the court, the Golden Eagles' floor general is known for her defense as she leads the team with 66 steals (2.3 spg) to stand fifth in the league. Robinson was an all-freshman team selection in 2008 and a second team honoree in 2009.
