The Marquette University men's basketball team will face Notre Dame, Connecticut and Seton Hall in home-and-home series in 2010-11 BIG EAST Conference play, the league office announced Thursday morning.
The Golden Eagles have learned where they will take on their fellow league programs next season, but the layout of the actual schedule has yet to be determined. In 2009-10, MU's crossover trio consisted of DePaul, Providence and Villanova. The 2010-11 schedule breakdown is listed below.
HOME GAMES: Cincinnati, Connecticut, DePaul, Notre Dame, Providence, St. John's, Seton Hall, Syracuse, West Virginia
ROAD GAMES: Connecticut, Georgetown, Louisville, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Seton Hall, USF, Villanova
The upcoming season will mark the fourth campaign and the first complete cycle for the 18-game BIG EAST schedule, which features three home-and-home opponents for every school and one matchup against each of the remaining 12 league opponents. No league team has the same three repeat opponents as last year and five squads (including MU) have three totally new crossover foes from 2009-10.
Marquette posted an overall record of 22-12 in 2009-10 and advanced to the NCAA Championship for the fifth-straight season.
Season tickets will be available for as little as $99 beginning on July 12. Five-game mini plans, which will include four BIG EAST matchups and Wisconsin, go on sale on August 2.
The complete non-conference schedule, including the exhibition matchup, will begin to be released on GoMarquette.com on July 12. One opponent will be announced each morning.
