Women's Soccer Ranked in Preseason Polls

MILWAUKEE - The Marquette women's soccer team collected its first preseason rankings of the 2010 season. The Golden Eagles are ranked No. 22 according to Soccer America, No. 30 by Top Drawer Soccer and are receiving votes in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) preseason poll.
Marquette is one of six BIG EAST schools either ranked or receiving votes in any of the three polls. The Golden Eagles will face nine teams in 2010 that have received a preseason ranking, including Ohio State, Auburn, San Diego, UW-Milwaukee, BYU, West Virginia, Villanova, Georgetown and Connecticut.
The Golden Eagles will conclude their preseason training camp this week and open the 2010 season Friday, Aug. 20 at Valley Fields against Idaho State at 7:30 p.m. MU's fourth annual Fan Fest will be held prior to the game against Idaho State beginning at 5 p.m. This FREE event will feature interactive skill stations, player autographs, photo opportunities, and food courtesy of Qdoba.
Following the match with the Bengals, Marquette will travel to Columbus, Ohio to play Ohio State who is receiving votes in the NSCAA poll.
