Marquette Volleyball Announces 2010 Promotional Schedule

MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University women's volleyball team has announced its game-day promotions and post-match clinic dates for five matches during the 2010 season.
"As we begin the 2010 home season, our goal is to not only provide a BIG EAST Championship-caliber team on the court, but a complete game day experience that rivals any in the league," head coach Bond Shymansky said. "Fan and student involvement is something on which our team thrives and it is important that our fans are part of the best possible environment at the Al McGuire Center."
Free Pizza Hut pizza will be provided to all students in attendance at every match this season.
The student costume contest between sets 2-3 during the Pittsburgh match on Halloween (Oct. 31) will feature the grand prize of an iPad. The contest is open to all students and the iPad will be awarded to the winner. The second and third place contestants will receive a $100 and $50 gift certificate to the Marquette Spirit Shop.
Three students will be picked from the crowd and the crowd's applause will decide the winner.
The Golden Eagles will once again host its a Dig Pink match on Sunday, Nov. 14 against Cincinnati at the Al McGuire Center. During the match, MU will raise money for the Side-Out Foundation to help the fight against breast cancer. Fans can donate a set amount of money or pledge on a per-dig basis. All fans wearing pink to the match will also receive a $2 discount on admission.

Also during the match against Cincinnati, MU will honor the 1985 Marquette women's volleyball team and all its alumni in a pre-match ceremony. An alumni match will also be held on Saturday, Nov. 13.
